AFRA Committees

AFRA Committees support the technical, strategic, and outreach work of the Association. Each committee is composed of AFRA members in good standing. These committees help shape the best management practices, guide research and development initiatives, and support the association’s long-term goals. Committee participation offers members the chance to contribute expertise, influence standards, and collaborate on innovative solutions that promote safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility.

AFRA committees generally meet every six weeks via video conference. Working groups may meet more frequently as needed.

BMP Development Committee                         

Co-Chair Eric Langlois, CAVU Aerospace, Inc. and Kevin Flynn, VAS Aero Services, LLC

Focuses on maintaining and advancing the AFRA Best Management Practices (BMP) Guide, including new scope development (e.g., demolition), updates to disassembly and recycling sections, and improvements to support accreditation consistency.

Marketing & Business Development Committee 

Co-Chair Eric Langlois and Ken Kocialski, CAVU Aerospace, Inc.

Guides outreach strategy, promotional planning, sponsorship visibility, and value proposition development. This committee supports AFRA's global reputation and helps communicate the benefits of accreditation and membership.

Research & Development Committee                 

Co-Chairs – Pete George, Boeing Commercial Airplane / Karen Hills, Boeing Commercial Airplane

Supports collaborative research across the aviation recycling lifecycle, including material recovery, process innovation, and industry benchmarking. Recent areas of focus include composite recycling, data mapping, and cabin interior reuse.
